Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

December 30th, 2009 by admin No comments »

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! Just a note that the 2010 HOA dues are coming out this week. The dues are the same as last year ($110) Please review your statement and pay promptly. This money goes for power for the lighting our street and front entrance as well as maintaining the entrance. Plus helps pay some for our yearly picnics and various other neighborhood functions. It’s very important you stay current.

Thanks for a great year and we look forward to seeing everyone in 2010! Don’t be a stranger!

Update from Weddington Planning/Zoning Office

December 2nd, 2009 by admin No comments »

This is an edited summary of the Providence Road Construction Upate from the November 2009 Weddington Journal:

…A temporary traffic signal will be installed at the Mills Cleaners entrance at the Shopping Center at the request of NCDOT division Engineer Barry Moose. This traffic signal may be relocated if a permanent connector road is built from Providenc Road to Weddington-Matthews road at some time in the future. This traffic signal will allow for improved access into and out of the Weddington Corners Shopping Center. Mr. Mosse started that traffic modeling showed that this light would not be a detriment to traffic flow along Providence Rd. Mr Moose also recommended a back entrance into Weddington Corners. This entrance would allow traffic to navigate from the Shopping Center

Weddington Road Construction update: …Work on Weddington Road (Hwy 84) has begun. NCDOT has finished clearing vegetation within the right-of-way…Currently NCDOT still plans to install a median along Weddington Road from Providence Road to Weddington-Matthews Road.

Other info: Mr. Moose also stated that funds would be available  in January to install turning lanes and a traffic signal at the hemby/Beulah church Road and Weddington-Matthews Road intersection. Construction could begin next summer and will take at least six months to complete…

Your HOA board will be decorating the front entrance and the street lights within the neighborhood this weekend. This is an exciting time of year for everyone. We are excited to begin the Christmas season. Also, there are some great looking decorations up within the neighborhood. If you get a chance, take a minute and drive around the block and look at all the beautiful lights! Thanks to all for taking the time to celebrate and decorate!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Your PAHOA board wishes everyone a very safe and happy Thanksgiving. Remember to take a moment during the hustle and bustle of the weekend to reflect and be thankful for all that you have. There are so many in this world that have little or nothing. We are fortunate to live in a safe and friendly neighborhood. Most of us have plenty of food on the table and lot’s of loving family to support us.

If you are traveling this weekend, remember to lock your doors and leave a couple of lights on. Also let your neighbor know what your plans are so if there is a problem at your house, the police or neighbors can contact you.

Have a very happy Thanksgiving!
